Haz Mat Drill

The radio traffic was recorded during the April 2, 2005 Haz Mat Drill. Unfortunately the scanner stuck on the fireground frequency and recorded continuous static shortly after the drill started. I’ve edited out the static and the lengthy pauses to condense it down to about five minutes.  The recording missed all the transmissions from the air pack radios since they were on 154.25 Mhz. and the scanner was stuck on fireground.   It’s still interesting to listen to the drill again even though it’s incomplete.

Please note - this file is 6.5M in size, so this may not work over a dial up connection.  At best it may take 30 minutes or so to download over dial up.

Click HERE to download the audio file. Most computers are already set up with a player that will automatically start playing the recording. If not, you may need to install a player program capable of using a wav file.  If you click on the link and it appears to download something but nothing plays, try this: RIGHT click on the link above and select SAVE AS from the menu that pops up.  Select a location to save the file and click OK.  After the download is complete, click on the OPEN button to play the recording.

Please let Keith know if you’re able to listen to this or not. This is a trial to see how it works.
